Düsseldorf, 16/03/2020

The online job platform StepStone.de is actively supporting hospitals and medical practices in the Corona crisis to recruit medically trained staff such as doctors, nurses and care professionals as quickly as possible. That's why StepStone will be posting all jobs needed within the health sector to combat the virus on stepstone.de free of charge for the next four weeks, starting immediately.

In addition, StepStone will massively advertise the jobs through all online channels at its own expense. The StepStone action is supported by co-operation partners from the health sector such as the Hartmannbund, the Thieme publishing house and DocCheck.

Missing personnel and an imminent shortage of care place the entire health sector before a challenge never seen before. In particular, hospitals and medical practices are personnel in this special situation. There is a shortage of trained staff to care for patients, especially in the area of intensive care. Physician officials are already warning of impending shortages.

Sebastian Dettmers, StepStone CEO, says:

"Hospitals and nursing staff now urgently need support. At the same time, medically trained staff and students are wondering where they can best help in their region. We want to do everything we can to bring these groups together as quickly as possible."

Students also targeted in the search

StepStone also advertises vacancies to medical students via the platform of its subsidiary Studydrive. More than 1 million students are registered with Germany's largest student platform.

Dettmers says:

"As of today, groups are already forming via Studydrive in which students inform each other and show solidarity. In the future, this will involve activities such as blood donations or helping older people with their shopping."
