Düsseldorf, 18/11/2019

Sebastian Dettmers and Ralf Baumann accelerate the announced handover process at the CEO position of the online job platform StepStone. Sebastian Dettmers, Managing Director at StepStone, will take over as the new StepStone CEO with effect from 1 January 2020.

Ralf Baumann, currently CEO of StepStone, will simultaneously take over the position of CEO of AVIV Group from Andreas Wiele, who has so far held this position in addition to his role as Chief Executive Officer Classifieds Media at Axel Springer.

Bauman says:

"I am looking forward to the upcoming task at AVIV Group. Sebastian Dettmers has led StepStone as Managing Director for more than eight years. Together we have been preparing the handover process of the CEO position for a long time and already started at the beginning of the year. Now we will complete it by the end of the year and Sebastian Dettmers will lead StepStone into the future as the new CEO."

Dettmers has acted as StepStone Managing Director for the important German market since 2011. He has been Managing Director for StepStone in Continental Europe since 2017. Before starting at the online job platform, Dettmers held several positions in the digital business at Axel Springer, most recently as General Manager Classifieds.

Ralf Baumann began his StepStone career in 2002. Over the past 17 years, StepStone has developed from a start-up to a globally successful e-recruiting company under his leadership. Today, StepStone is active in more than 30 countries and employs over 3,300 people.

Andreas Wiele will continue to head the Classifieds Media segment until his previously announced departure from the Executive Board of Axel Springer SE in May 2020 and will prepare the transition of duties together with his colleagues on the Executive Board Jan Bayer as well as Stephanie Caspar. Ralf Baumann will continue to serve StepStone as a member of the Supervisory Board in addition to his role as CEO of the AVIV Group.

AVIV Group was founded by Axel Springer in 2018 as a wholly-owned subsidiary and bundles the digital classifieds business in the real estate, automotive and generalist sectors. This includes Immowelt in Germany, SeLoger, Logic-Immo, MeilleursAgents as well as Car&Boat Media in France, Immoweb in Belgium and Yad2 in Israel.
